A Spring Wedding, 1960

My aunt and uncle got married on the sun-filled day of May 7, 1960. The 10am ceremony was held at the Saint Boniface German parish, corner Hôtel de Ville and Pine Avenue, while the reception was held at The Bucharest on Saint Lawrence Boulevard.

My grandparents' duplex was located on Lumbsden Street (Meunier, today).

The Saint Boniface parish still exists today, and the interior has not changed.

I just love the beautiful wedding cake...

50's Family Portrait

The young boy is my dad, with my grandparents, and my aunt:

My aunt was the picture of grace and poise. Her dress was peacock blue...

The backs of the photographs are both stamped:

"Bernstein Studio
3603 St. Lawrence Blvd.
Montreal"

On both photos, the year "1953" is inscribed as well, in blue ink.
I presume this to be my granfather's handwriting...

We Are Family

For the last 10 years, I've been fascinated by Expo 67, and for about as long, my little sister has been following me in my passions.

Whether it be taking pictures on the old Expo site, hunting souvenirs in flea markets, or riding the minirail at La Ronde, she's been there all along...
