Back on My Feet

After almost 3 years of inactive participation in our annual family skiing trip, I finally find myself kicking to slide the snowy hills of Les Paccots. The resort is about 20 minutes from where we live and it is just a small family winter recreation. I was so stressed and nervous thinking I will make such a huge mess with my big come back! Luckily for me, having a husband like Patrick is a wonderful blessing. He was the most patient and gentle teacher supporting me in everyway. The first hour thought to be crucial was a walk in the park afterall. Skiing once learnt is like learning how to bike. Even if you idle for awhile, the skill is within us. It is only a matter of time and practice to get back the confidence. I could never imagine myself having such a good time with my children in the slopes today. Almost 5 hours of fun and a good hour of rest was just the therapy I needed to officially get my feet back on the slopes. I am loving it so much! Can't wait for the next big snowfall...

Amongst Other Things...

Hey, glad you made it here to my site.
It may look easy once we read or visited our friend's blog and all, but I find it really takes dedication and effort to do this. Maintaining is an issue for me, keeping up your site so visitors will have something to look forward once they come by. I tried several occasion to posts an entry and after seems like ages for the next one. So, here I am again. I just hope that this will be my last attempt for beginnings...As busy as i thought i could be, perhaps writing once in a while about anything will be therapeutic. Thank you for coming by and with everything and all, i will make my best to join the blogging community. If you would like me to add your site, just let me know. I needed more friends to keep me going here.

Jackie Kennedy at Expo 67

Former American first lady Jaqueline "Jackie" Kennedy visited Expo from October 6 to 8, 1967.

Celebrities who wished to tour Expo 67 incognito were provided with certain services, such as a non-uniformed guide or hostess to escort them. Though it was meant to be a private event, Jackie Kennedy held a press conference the morning of her Expo visit!

Mrs. Kennedy was welcomed by The U.S. pavilion's Assistant Commissioner General, Milton Fredman, and began her tour of Expo at the Czechoslovakia pavilion.

Always elegant, Jackie Kennedy talked to any visitors or journalists who called out to her at Expo.

The Sky Ride

The Sky Ride was a 120-foot high cable car system that travelled over Dolphin Lake in the La Ronde sector of Expo 67.

Brightly colored gondolas holding 4 persons each carried passengers from the Expo Express station (at La Ronde's entrance) to another station in Le Village, an old-style Québecois village located at the opposite end of the park.

The cable cars offered visitors a panoramic view of the site, as well as the Montreal skyline, but bird's eye views were just one of the ride's functions: the Sky Ride was an effective means of dispersing the thick crowds that arrived hourly at La Ronde...

The CBC Gem Logo

The "C" stands for Canada, while the radiating parts symbolize broadcasting.

Of all the CBC logos throughout the years, my favorite is the Gem logo.

Designed for the CBC by legendary graphic artist Burton Kramer in 1974, the iconic Gem is the most widely recognized logo of the corporation, and arguably the most recognized symbol in Canada...

It instantly brings me back to childhood mornings watching Mr. Dressup...
